Foróige is one of Ireland’s most significant youth development organisations, creating measurable social impact by empowering young people to lead, participate and contribute positively within their communities. Operating since 1952, it now supports more than 52,000 young people annually across 26 counties through youth clubs, mentoring, education programmes and over 200 targeted youth projects, backed by a volunteer network of more than 5,600 adults.

Its strongest community contribution lies in prevention and early intervention. By engaging young people before issues escalate, Foróige reduces risks linked to early school leaving, social exclusion, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and youth offending. Its Youth Diversion Projects, delivered with community and justice partners, help participants improve educational attainment, build pro-social relationships and strengthen family support systems, directly contributing to safer and more cohesive local communities.
